Location: Garstang
The historical societies at Pilling and Garstang have published their programmes for the forthcoming seasons. I thought members of this forum might be interested in some of the lectures, so will list them below. I recently joined the Garstang society, and sometimes attend the Pilling one.
Note, in the list below I am only listing the ones which may be of interest, not all of them:


Garstang
(2nd Weds in the month, 7.30pm, United Reformed Church Hall, Croston Road, Garstang.

Oct 14. 2009 Turnpikes, Milestone and Toll Houses by Brenda Fox
March 10. 2010 Romano-British Settlement at Poulton-le-Fylde / Understanding indigenous rural settlements n the North West by Alastain Vannan.

Pilling
(Methodist Church schoolroom, Smallwood Hey). Time 7.30pm.

Oct 10. 2009. Battle of Preston by Mr Paul Cross
Nov 3. 2009. History of Poulton by Christine Storey
Nov 17. 2009 Rise and decline of Lancashire's ports by Malcolm Tranter
Jan 5 2010 Roman Lancaster by Prof Shotter
Jan 19 2010 Rural Iron Age and Romano British Settlement in the North West by A Vanna.
