The Fylde & Wyre Antiquarian

This is the first school that I attended, Saint Edmunds Infant School situated on Melbourne Avenue, Fleetwood. It's still there but has been extended.



Now we move on to my junior school. This is Saint Marys Junior School and was situated on London Street, Fleetwood. This photo is taken from Blakiston Street. The school has been demolished and a modern version now stands on the plot.



Finally the school where I learned about alcohol, tobacco, barbs and girls. This is Carndinal Allen Secondary Modern and is situated on Melbourne Avenue, Fleetwood. Yeah, next door to Saint Edmunds ! It's still there but is now much bigger. And the bike sheds have gone.



All the photos where taken c1963 by the late John Duckworth WW2 Spitfire pilot, motorcyclist, neighbour and my inspiration to get off my arse and use my camera. Eighty-eight when he died last May but as feisty as ever. R.I.P.
