I have an earthenware salt glazed dish ? and have been trying to find out who made it and what it was used for, I have been using it as a house plant tray for years.

Any ideas anyone

Pilling Pottery. An ashtray.

Er...obviously that's just a guess. It has the look of Pilling Pottery about it...although the letters 'SD' stamped onto the rim perhaps suggest otherwise.
