Frank, really nice pictures, it's amazing the old mill as been kept in such a good state of repair.

Terry,

I believe Ken (Emery...of Wyre Archaeology, that is) had something to do with bringing it back up to its current condition some years ago, from a state of near dilapidation at the time. He also wrote an excellent book about the place (which I'm pleased to say I own a signed copy of).

There used to be a blacksmith there in the late fifties and early sixties. Used to take my pony there to be shod.
Can't remember whether the forge was actually in the windmill or an adjoining building - I was very young at the time!
