Grisly Blackpool

Alan Robson's Grisly Tales and Ghostly Trails mentions a gruesome Blackpool story set around what's now the Stanley Park/Victoria Hospital area during the Great War.It's many years since I read it and the details are sketchy but it involved a snatched handbag from one of a trio of elderly sisters who lived in a big house in the above area. The handbag contained a mummified hand and the thief was so horrified at what he'd found he went to the Police.the Police found many human remains in the cellar and witchcraft/satanic ritual books and ornaments. The 3 sisters escaped to Ireland and the house never brought any luck to future owners and mysteriously burned down around the start of the 2nd World War.
Dad told me he heard of this when a boy in the 1930s,though he couldn't recall much else about the story.Any readers ever heard of this or got further details please?
