A statue of a matchstick man has been erected at Knott End on the place where Lowry painted his "Knott End Ferry Slip".

This site shows a Lowry painting of a "Fylde Landscape". Can anyone place it?

Hi Phil,
I didn't realise Lowry had done that much in the Fylde. I like the Knott End one, but going by how much he changed Church Street Kirkham it may be difficult to pinpoint the countryside sketch, but I will have a go.

My first thoughts were of Little Eccleston.

A couple of objections, folks. Little Eccleston Hall is a symmetrical building while (even allowing for artistic licence) Lowry`s isn`t. Lowry`s landscape looks to show a house in the bottom of a dip or valley - I`m not aware that Meagles Lane is like that?

We stayed at Larbreck Farm Guest House last year and this reminds me of it somewhat.
