Saturday Nov 7th & Sunday Nov 8th

For a few hours this morning (between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m.) I actually thought we were going to get away with it this weekend. The Met Office was forecasting sunshine and cloud for Saturday, followed by glorious non-stop sunshine for the whole of Sunday. Naturally I packed my sunglasses, sunblock and paisley trunks in readiness.

However, a couple of hours later, the Met Office changed its mind completely...assuming it's actually had a mind to change, which I'm seriously starting to doubt. The upshot of all this is that the forecast is now heavy showers for both days.

I'll keep a check on matters for Sunday (because you never know, although I'm not heading off to William Hill's in a hurry) but I think this weekend's yet another washout.

We're doing well this month.

UPDATE: SATURDAY EVENING

The forecast, according to always reliable Met Office (you can always rely on them to be useless at any rate) for tomorrow (Sunday the 8th of November) has, once again, swung round to sunny and dry. That's about the forth or fifth time it's changed dramatically in the last 24 hours, so I'm not completely banking on it.

However, I've had a word with Chris and, assuming that it's going to stay on 'Sunny and Dry' this time, we're going to go for it tomorrow. We should know for definite by 8.30 in the morning, so double-check your e-mails around that time and if there's nothing new in your in-box, you can assume that we''ll be up at the site opening up a new area of exploration.

Hopefully we'll see everyone there...
