hi folks, I am trying to find out about a side show that was on the prom during the 50's called The Palace of Strange Girls.
unfortunately all i get on my web searches is a link to a book, can any one help me with information or does anyone know?

It stood on the Golden Mile on the south corner of Brunswick Street. And just to show that Blackpool wasn't then devoid of culture it was subtitled -- "Le Palais Des Filles Etrange."

Well Dave, this photo shows that the venue was there in the 1950s, when I would have been too young to go inside. However, I’ve met girls since then who have seemed quite strange. You will notice that at the Palace they weren’t “étranges” (this time with acute accent and plural), as I suggested, but “Bizarres”. Should anyone think we are straying too far from our subject, perhaps some of les filles are now archaeological remains. Certainly the building has gone.
