To keep the Forum ticking over in the dark winter months I'll post an aerial photo of a town, village, hamlet or building for you to name, roughly within the area of Amounderness. No prizes, I will post a new one each time the current one is identified.

For starters-

It's somewhere with a church.

I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark here and say that it might be some like Broughton

...or something...

Yes, I think you're right Brian. That means that Mr Berry will be relieved to hear that the Church Inn is just beyond the row of white buildings (center right of the picture), on the opposite side of the road.

Why didn't I see that? All those Sundays in the Church Inn and the Catholic Club all gone to waste...

Points go to Mr Hughes there.
Pubs and churches, simillar institutions, both addle your mind. Bit of trivia, at some time in the past Preston had more pubs and more churches per head of population than anywhere else in the country.

Full marks to Mark there, and amigafan is spot on, I suppose the two pubs in view helped, (well, the Boot and Shoe was still a traditional pub last time I was in, but the Plough is now an eatery.

Next photo.

David,
You are as you know correct, it is Wesham, Christ Church in the centre of the photo, with the war memorial and old fire station at the road junction above it.
